Our Story

Princess Chambers began in 2009 to address a need in under-resourced communities. Our founder, Jennifer Daniel, learned about girls that were unable to attend their prom because they could not afford a dress. To address this issue, the founder conducted a prom dress drive that collected over 250 gently-used and new dresses from the community and hosted an event that served hundreds of graduating high school girls throughout Brooklyn, NY within two weeks. Through her sentiment that “giveaways should not feel like a giveaway,” this event grew from being in a small room in an event space in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn, to being held at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge that has served over 800 young women since inception.

In 2015, the organization expanded to financially empower young women through scholarships and have awarded 21 young women to date. Shortly after, Princess Chambers piloted a mentoring program to assist high school students with their transition from high school to college and will be re-launching this program during Fall 2023.

After receiving a generous donation from a sustainable clothing brand during the pandemic, the organization pivoted and launched “The Chamber”, an event that provides students access to free quality and stylish new clothing to attend school with confidence.

At Princess Chambers Inc., we believe that all young ladies are born a princess regardless of ethnicity, income level, race or social status. Our vision is to provide resources that will empower young women to become the best version of themselves and help them “identify the princess within themselves so that they can become the queens they are destined to be.’
